Xiaomi’s MI A1 – Full Specifications and features


Xiaomi , following the culture in today’s market recently launched its Android One device named MI A1 on 5th September 2017 in India. Xiaomi took a big leap that this device won’t be featured in Redmi series devices. The device looks premium with good build quality. The most highlighing feature of this device is that it is manufactured by Xiaomi and powered by Google.


Hardware :

The device features a top notch processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 which is best in its price range. The smartphone is packed with 4GB ram and 64GB rom with Adreno 506 GPU. The battery joining MI A1 is of 3080 mAh non-removable battery.

It comes with Dual Rear Camera this time (12MP+12MP) a wide angle lens and other is a telephoto lens featuring 2X optical zoom. A 13.5 cm or 5.5 inches screen with 2.5D curved glass featuring 1080p Full HD IPS display. The device is capable of recording 4K  videos @30 fps. The device is said to be sold in India packed in graphite sheets which will keep the temperature of phone cooler by 2 degrees.

MI A1 comes with a C-type port but with no quick charging. The charger given in box is normal brick charger with 2.0 amp output and a fingerprint sensor at the backside of phone.

Software :

The device comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat and is powered by GOOGLE. The most attracting thing of this device is being a smartphone from MI , it doesn’t comes with regular MIUI. The phone features a stock android experience just like Motorola phones do. Though the phone has some apps of MI like MI remote , Mi Store and Feedback app and a customized camera app.

Xiaomi has confirmed that Mi A1 will recieve Android Oreo 8.0 till the end of this year and probably Android 9 (P) till the end of next year.

The MI A1 surely is a budget beast launched by Xiaomi priced in mid-range. This will turn out to be a good competitor for mid-range devices specially for Moto G5s Plus. The stock android experience without any MIUI has added alot to this device. Being powered by Google , the device will recieve all OTA updates that will be released for stock android devices. Hence, its a must buy phone if your budget is under 15k if you want a smooth android experience and if you love to click photographs , dual camera are there for you to capture best moments as it is for you. 🙂
